Nutrition I: Foundation
This course aims to develop a basic understanding of holistic nutrition and general healthy eating principles. Students will cover a number of topics such as growing and cultivating foods and understanding the impact of agricultural methods. Student will learn the concept of “whole foods” in terms of nutritional value and energy. A number of traditional and alternative foods and diets will be covered including vegetarianism, food combining and certain weight loss diets. Students will also learn how to create and analyze a food diary as a means to adjust a person’s diet.
