Client Therapist Relationship I
This course is a prerequisite to Client-Therapist Relationship II. It was designed to facilitate students’ transition into an internship role of professional natural health consultant.
Part I of this course will focus on ethical and legal guidelines informing clinical practice, practitioner self-care and personal therapy. Consideration will be given to various types of ethical dilemmas. During Part II, students will learn about the defense mechanisms of denial and projection. A Jungian psychodynamic perspective is used to explain how the phenomena of projection informs the therapeutic dyad’s ways of relating. In turn, students will have an opportunity to reflect upon the shadow side of their nature. Thus, taking one small step towards recognizing, processing and owning their projections.
