Mindfulness & Body-Centered Awareness

This is an exciting new course at NHC that aims to guide students to their own discoveries and insights on the path of healing and awakening. Students will inquire together and individually about: Is it possible to embrace emotional distress and engage fully with life? What does it mean to be mindful? How can body centered awareness help us to respond to life’s surprises? Spanning over a ten week period, each weekly three hour class will explore mindfulness and body-centered awareness in practical and experiential ways. There will be ample time for personal inquiry, group exercises, dyad work and group discussion. Students will be encouraged to delve into life’s richness and difficulties – and to transform! Topics include developing and maintaining a personal practice, working with stress, anxiety and pain, breath work, organic inner awareness, mindfulness and grounding/centering exercises.

      Hi Wenyu,
There may be some overlaps with Hakomi but it is not based on any particular methodology. Hope to see you in the class!
